The Carnation Parade Committee issues a call to local artists to compete in the Carnation Parade Plate Design Contest.

Attention Wheat Ridge Artists!

The Wheat Ridge Carnation Plate Design Contest, a 55-year tradition, is now open for 2024. Submission deadline is midnight, June 7th.

The Committee is asking for local artists and designers to submit a copy of an original piece of art that reflects significance to the community of Wheat Ridge or history of the Carnation Festival.

The winner’s artwork will be featured on the 55th annual commemorative plate. Plates will be presented
to the City of Wheat Ridge for display in the Council Chambers in City Hall, the Wheat Ridge Carnation
Parade first-place winners, and the winning artist.

Prizes:
First prize - $150 and your artwork featured on the 55th annual commemorative plate
Second prize - $100
Third prize - $75

Guidelines:
1. Artwork theme “The Carnation Festival”
2. Must be family-friendly
3. Accepted formats: .pdf or .jpg @ 300dpi scale. (Designs are laser-printed onto the ceramic plates.)
4. Accepted 2-D art mediums: photography, painting, drawing, digital art

Please include artwork attachment, full name and contact information (including phone number and
address), a brief resume, and how you are connected to Wheat Ridge.

By submitting your entry, you give permission to the Carnation Festival to use the image from your
original art in all forms for marketing the 2024 festival.
